I took the picture before she was ready to smile.
She was still fixing she was still arranging her hair and she warned me not to shoot but I took it anyway and she stopped her fixing and stopped arranging her hair and glared at me, she asked if I ever listen.
And I joked and answered:
"I’m listening now.”
But she wasn’t joking and she wasn’t laughing she told me to just shoot
And I asked “Are you ready yet?”
And she smiled: “I am now.”
So I shot her like I’d done so many times but didn’t look at the screen when it was over because I already knew
I already knew she wouldn’t be there if I looked again.
